Electrolux Home Care Products, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain 9.6-volt Pronto, Ergorapido and Precision vacuum cleaners.

In a small number of recent reports, rechargeable battery cells inside the products have expanded and fractured the cleaner housing, sometimes expelling battery contents or projecting pieces from the unit.

Reported incidents involve damage to the product or minor property damage to walls, floors, windows or carpet. Only a few minor injuries have been reported involving swollen hands and irritation to eyes from contact with battery powder. Electrolux has had no reports of fire hazards or serious injuries resulting from this condition.

Consumers should unplug these cleaners and stop using them immediately.
