JCPenney's Commitment to
Social Responsibility
Built on the legacy of founder James Cash Penney, who believed in doing what is “right and just,” JCPenney is committed to being a good corporate citizen through the support of environmental, social and ethical initiatives.
To bring sharper focus to our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, we have identified five areas of emphasis under the banner of "JCPenney C.A.R.E.S:" Community, Associates, Responsible Sourcing, the Environment and Sustainable Products. Our vision for CSR is: JCPenney C.A.R.E.S. for our Associates, customers, communities and the environment in everything we do.
